Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
SPX Sports is a division of Quality 1 Hr. Foto, located at 1235 Caledonia Street in Mankato, Minnesota.
What are your store hours and phone number?
Our store hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. -5 p.m. and Sundays from noon – 5 p.m. Our number is (507) 345-7196. What does SPX Sports do?
SPX Sports uses state of the art professional digital cameras to photograph sports, events and activities. Our specialty is action and sports photography. We photograph many sporting events and other area activities and post low resolutions images to our website – spxsports.com. The photos can then be viewed and ordered online as well. SPX Sports works with teams, organizations, and events of all sizes to provide professional photographic services. Contact SPX Sports today to schedule your event(s). SPX Sports also does custom digital design work, including custom designed trading cards, posters, photo retouching, color correction and much more. SPX Sports is a division of Quality 1 Hr. Foto which offers one hour digital or film photo finishing, large format printing, a full-service portrait studio and custom framing shop. Quality 1 Hr. Foto also offers film, picture frames, scrapbooking supplies and unique art.
Will SPX Sports REPOST the images for me if they have already been removed?
Because of the large number of events photographed by SPX Sports, photos are removed from the site after 60 days. If you would like to order photos from a previous event and the photos have been removed from the SPX Sports website, please contact us with the name of the event and the date and we will search our archives to find the event photos. SPX Sports archives all images. In fact, we have terabytes of digital photos stored on our servers. If you have a specific athlete you are interested in viewing, you must also provide that athlete's description, number and color of uniform.
All photos are posted to the SPX Sports website in a low resolution format which allows for quick viewing. SPX Sports archives the high resolution photographs and uses these files to process your order. Use our website to place your order then stop-in or use our convenient drive-thru window to pick up your order.
How do I pay for my photographs?
We accept checks, credit and debit cards, money orders and cash. Many of our photographs can be ordered and paid for online. Some services such as custom designed trading cards require you to make an appointment to discuss your project.
How long does it take to get my prints?
Your prints can be ready in as little as one hour from the time you place your order. If you need the prints quickly, please let us know at the time you place your order. Under normal circumstances, your prints are ready the next day and can be shipped to any location you choose – or simply stop in our store to pick them up.
The images you see online are LOW resolution only. To get true photographs of these images, place an order with SPX Sports. Trying to print low resolutions images from our website makes all of us look bad. We pride ourselves in providing top quality photographs and we ask your continued assistance in making this service available.
SPX Sports uses state of the art digital photographic cameras to photograph your event. With digital photography, there are no negatives. The photos, however, can be made available in digital format. Contact us for more information.
We would prefer to use the digital file to create the photographs and other products you order. However, if you need the digital file for other purposes, please contact us and we can make the file available from our FTP site. The digital photographs are typically large files and should not be e-mailed. Many Internet service providers do not allow large e-mail attachments. We ask that you delete the file from our FTP site when you finish downloading it. We keep a copy of the high resolution photo in our archives. Thank you for your assistance with this!
Can I make copies of the photographs I purchased?
The images you have purchased are copyrighted by SPX Sports. If you would like additional copies, please contact us to order reprints. All contents and photographic images at the SPX Sports website are copyrighted material.
YES!! Only low resolutions images are posted to our website. These images are small in size and load quickly, but they are not designed to be printed. They look nice on a computer monitor, but the images lack the quality and color information required for printing. When you place an order with SPX Sports, your images will be clear and sharp, and printed on Kodak photographic paper. If you are not completely satisfied, just return the photos and pay for nothing.
The photo I am interested in looks blurry. Will it print better?
Probably not. Although the files that are used to print photos are much higher resolution than the photos you view online, out-of-focus images are exactly that. What you see online is comparable to what you'll get on paper (when printed from a high-resolution file). If you have a question about a photo and the quality, please feel free to call or email SPX Sports with your questions. |
